Ways to Give

Your generosity makes our work possible!

Donate

Giving to Community Supported Shelters means you are directly building on the efforts we have made to help individuals experiencing homelessness. CSS is a 501(c)(3) organization and all monetary donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by tax laws.

Make a Donation

Together we can give relief to people experiencing housing hardship and help them improve their lives.

Community Supported Shelters was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization a decade ago and continues to step up to meet the growing needs for basic shelter. Donations are the lifeblood of a nonprofit. All gifts are considered tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Give Supplies

We can always use more supplies, especially during heat waves and winter months. We maintain an Amazon wishlist of the items we need most. When ordering, don’t forget to change the shipping address to our main office: 1160 Grant Street, Eugene, OR 97402.

Interested in holding a supply drive? Please contact community@cssoregon.org.

Adopt-a-Hut

Any individual, group, or organization that donates $3,000 or more can elect to have a Conestoga Hut dedicated in your name or the name of someone you choose.

A plaque is placed on a Hut as a lasting symbol of your meaningful support.

Host a Fundraiser

Launch a personal or group fundraiser! Birthdays, holidays, dinner parties, and special events can be great fundraising opportunities to make an impact on homelessness in our community. Many fundraisers are held virtually, such as on Facebook.

Have questions about hosting your own fundraiser? Contact community@cssoregon.org.

Donate Stocks

Rather than losing up to 37% of your donation to capital gains tax (bummer), direct stock gifts let us use 100% of your donation (whoo)! That way, you can make a bigger impact at zero additional cost to you.

A gift of stock made before December 31 of a calendar year may even reduce your tax burden for the year you give. (Talk to your financial advisor about possible tax benefits.)

If you would like to make a stock donation, please contact community@cssoregon.org.

Donate Firewood

Each winter, we need about 80 cords of seasoned wood (both chopped and rounds) to heat all of our Safe Spot Communities. If you'd like to make a firewood donation, please call 541-683-0836 or email office@cssoregon.org. (Note: we don't have the resources to cut down trees.)
